Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask His Majesty's Government how many people serving Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) sentences who were recalled in each of the past five years were recalled less than (1) one, (2) two, (3) three, (4) six, (5) 12, (6) 24, (7) 36, and (8) 48, months after release; and what percentage of IPP prisoners this represents in each case.
This information is not readily available at this time.
To answer the question, a manual check would be required of every instance of an offender serving an IPP sentence on licence being recalled to custody in the last 5 years, where data has been published (approximately 3,100).
This could be completed only at disproportionate cost.
