State Retirement Pensions: Women
Asked by: George Howarth (Labour - Knowsley) Thursday 30th March 2023 Question to the Department for Work and Pensions: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, pursuant to the Answer of 16 January to Question 117888 on State Retirement Pensions: Females, if he will meet with the hon. Member for Knowsley, Dr Scutt and a representative group of women affected by state pension changes to discuss the matter of settlements. Answered by Laura Trott - Shadow Secretary of State for Education The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman has not completed his investigation into communication of changes to women’s state pension. It would be inappropriate to discuss this matter whilst it is ongoing. Section 7(2) of the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967 states that Ombudsman investigations “shall be conducted in private”.
The Department is cooperating fully with the PHSO in their investigation. |
Respiratory Syncytial Virus: Vaccination
Asked by: George Howarth (Labour - Knowsley) Monday 3rd April 2023 Question to the Department of Health and Social Care: To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will hold discussions with the Chancellor of the Exchequer on the potential merits of funding an universal immunisation programme for respiratory syncytial virus-related lower respiratory tract infections in infants in 2023-24. Answered by Maria Caulfield The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) are actively considering the potential for an expanded or universal respiratory syncytial virus programme. Once the JCVI have concluded their robust review of evidence, the Department will support the implementation of any advice with NHS England and the UK Health Security Agency as soon as is practicable, including engaging with HM Treasury to seek budgetary support for a potential programme. |

Answered by Maria Caulfield The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) is actively reviewing evidence about a potential universal respiratory syncytial virus programme. Once JCVI have concluded their review and any advice is made, the Department will work with the UK Health Security Agency and NHS England to support implementation of advice as soon as is practicable. |
