Cybercrime: China
Asked by: Tim Loughton (Conservative - East Worthing and Shoreham) Tuesday 18th April 2023 Question to the Home Office: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps her Department is taking to protect (a) parliamentarians and (b) political refugees from China from state-sponsored cyber attacks by China. Answered by Tom Tugendhat The Government continually assesses potential threats in the UK, and takes protection of individuals’ rights, freedoms, and safety very seriously. The Home Office works closely with its partners to protect people identified as being at risk, and to ensure the UK is a safe and welcoming place for those who choose to settle here. All attempts by foreign Governments to coerce, intimidate, harass or harm their critics overseas, undermining democracy and the rule of law, are unacceptable. The Defending Democracy Taskforce was established last year to help protect the democratic integrity of the UK from foreign interference. |

27 Mar 2023, 8:34 a.m. @BellaWallerstei Indeed, having proper safe and legal routes for a defined group of genuine asylum seekers makes planned migration easier and enables Govt to clamp down robustly on those with no real claim to come to the UK who are seeking to scam our generosity Link to Original Tweet |

31 Mar 2023, 7:28 p.m. @peter_jsw Exactly. It covers a larger population than the EU and does not involve paying large quantities of taxpayers money to tell you how to run your business, what our farmers can grow or our fishers catch or subsidising inefficient neighbours or allowing unrestricted migration Link to Original Tweet |

4 Apr 2023, 4:41 p.m. The main issue in Shoreham recently has been the allocation of secondary school places by WSCC. Along with Cllr Kevin Boram and others I have been working to support parents affected by this and to ensure this doesn't happen again in the future. https://t.co/TBOPKvLF8s Link to Original Tweet |
