Increase State Pensions to £416.80 per week & lower Retirement Age to 60 for All - Final Signatures: 44,956

British State Pensions are far too low. The Government must increase the basic state pension to £21,673.60 a year (£416.80 pw) and extend this to everyone aged 60 or over. This should lift thousands out of poverty, give our elderly folk the power to survive and help grow the real economy, bottom up.

The Government responsed to this petition on 7th February 2023 (View Full Response)
The Government has no plans to increase State Pension to £416.80 per week or reduce State Pension age for everyone to 60.

Deny Sex Offenders the right to apply for removal from the Sex Offender Register - Final Signatures: 29,314

It’s horrifying that convicted sex offenders who were sentenced to more than 30 months for sexual offences and added to the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely can apply to be removed after 15 years. I want the right to apply for removal from the Sex Offenders Register to be removed.

The Government responsed to this petition on 17th April 2023 (View Full Response)
Protecting the public from sexual harm is a priority for the Government. Sex offenders who pose a risk will remain on the register for life if necessary. We do not plan to change the law in this area.

Require labelling of beef & dairy from cows fed with additives to reduce methane - 35,019 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 60,586 - 191 added in the past 24hrs)

We believe that all beef and dairy products from cows whose feed contains additives used for reducing methane emissions, should be labelled to state that this is the case, so the public can decide whether to consume or not, instead of consuming unknowingly. We believe it should be our choice.

The Government responsed to this petition on 19th February 2025 (View Full Response)
There are currently no rules requiring meat or dairy products to be labelled with details of animal feed, and the Government has no plans to introduce any.

Guarantee access to broadcast TV (Freeview) and aerial radio beyond 2040 - Final Signatures: 29,748

The Government must guarantee access to Freeview and aerial radio beyond 2040. Unless the Government takes such action ahead of the World Radiocommunication Conference in November 2023 the spectrum of frequency allocated to Digital Terrestrial TV (Freeview) may be lost and the services disbanded

The Government responsed to this petition on 24th February 2023 (View Full Response)
We agree that terrestrial TV and radio are hugely important and will continue to be for years to come. We remain committed to ensuring UK audiences can access these platforms in the long term.

Enshrine in law rights to roam and wild camp in national parks - Final Signatures: 37,765

Pass legislation to protect people's right to enjoy nature, and prevent it being restricted by landowners, who we believe should not really be allowed to own land within national parks. National parks should be for all, and not turned into a commodity.

The Government responsed to this petition on 24th February 2023 (View Full Response)
The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 provides the public a right of access to large parts of the English countryside including National Parks. There are no plans to change this.

Launch a Public Inquiry into the approval process for covid-19 vaccines - Final Signatures: 41,504

We want the Government to launch a Public Inquiry to investigate the MHRA's process for approving covid-19 vaccines.

The Government responsed to this petition on 20th December 2022 (View Full Response)
The Government is confident that the approval processes of the medicines regulator are robust. It is a matter for the COVID-19 public inquiry whether it wishes to pursue any of these issues.

This Government is fully committed to the ECHR and does not propose to support the holding of a referendum on UK membership.

Reverse the decision to block the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill - Final Signatures: 29,584

I want the Government to reverse their decision to block the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill, as this legislation contains important provisions for the LGBT community in Scotland. We are a United Kingdom, and the UK Government should not block devolved legislation.

The Government responsed to this petition on 7th February 2023 (View Full Response)
This decision was made due to the adverse effects that would arise from the Bill and its significant impact on GB-wide equalities matters. This is not about changing the rights of transgender people.
